Meet our founder Tree Jenny and ACCT’s team of fairly paid Tico workers and join the worldwide workforce that plants hope for future generations!
This day is a chance to roll your sleeves up and get your hands on a shovel and into the soil experience. It’s a unique opportunity to participate live in a reforestation planting project. You see, feel, hear, smell and celebrate with our work crews all the joy of transporting and planting baby trees together !
Our ACCT crews are fairly paid for each hour they work, including all the heavy work that comes after we plant the trees. They will follow up for 4 years, approximately 15 grass cutting and regenerative vegetation “encouragement” sessions 3 -4 times per year to make room for the baby trees competing with the aggressive cattle grasses. If we do not go back with regularity, the baby trees will suffocate. Using the old ways of sharp machetes and good ole man power, we will care for every tree we plant together so they can actually grow into a healthy rainforest that gives back shade, fresh air, healthy soils, clean abundant water!
We do all this on a gorgeous huge farm owned by a charismatic Tico named Euclides and his family as a means to help him keep his land and regenerate it and all the waters being born there for the numerous communities in the watershed below. This type of person to person collaboration will inspire you and enchant you while enjoying very cool ocean breezes and fresh air on one of the most gorgeous large pieces of land high in the mountains above the DIAMANTE VALLEY outside San Isidro Perez Zeledon. We will all be working together to insure long term community protection of the future forest and water springs we plant now for future generations!
