The selection of trees and seed collecting for thousands of trees is a key activity of ACCT and involves a lot of work. Your participation sustains our motto: “many hands make light work”. While putting your hands into the soil prepared by our women’s group, you learn how much work it takes to collect and produce the most rare rainforest trees in the southern zone of Costa Rica.
We will be hands on from collecting seeds and baby trees, to mixing and preparing compost, filling bags for transplanting sprouted trees, cleaning and preparing seeds for germination, learning about biodiversity,
weeding and watering and organizing trees by species groupings! We make it all fun with deep conversation around the dirt pile and gratitude for being part of a larger effort where so many people are involved in nurturing these tiny trees until they are ready to be planted!
Time: 9:00 to 11:30 at ACCT nursery Platanillo
Price: $50 per person
Tico style Lunch wrapped in banana leaves prepared by our women’s group available upon request ! Vegetarian ,Vegan or Chicken with Fresh Squeezed Sugar Cane Juice
